I love it when a plan comes together!
For a while now I have been itching to do a ‘Lucha Libre’ themed shoot, so when Canon Australia and Sun Studios invited me back to present my Creative Portrait Lighting Techniques seminar illustrating the versatility of the new Canon 600EX Speedlite system and the Canon STE-3 RT Transmitter, I jumped at the opportunity to have a play, and also push myself to see what can be done with just a few Speedlites. So with an amazing set and two rowdy Luchadores, Helio & Burrito, the scene was set for an entertaining, action filled day.
These images were created as a live demonstration, with a bit of audience participation, using a maximum of only 3 Speedlites for the majority and on occasion bringing in a fourth for a little bit of extra fill light for the low to the ground shots.
