Some new work from a recent ‘pop-up’ demonstration shoot for the launch of a new Canon / Digidirect store at Westfield Chatswood. For this project I was asked to create a unique photo shoot experience in a 3x3m open area in the middle of the shopping centre. The shoot needed to showcase the new Canon 1DX Mk2 along with an assortment of Canon L Series lenses as well as the versatility of the 600EX RT Speedlite system.
Often during my workshops and presentations I draw the analogy of a studio being absolutely anywhere. Any environment we encounter could be lit as you would light in a studio. So for this opportunity we had to work with http://abbyservices.com/ it all became a little too literal.
Working with my long term collaborator, set and costume designer James Browne (James Browne Presents) we aimed to create a Film Noir comic book style narrative, with just a smattering of clues to help you piece together your own version of the story (reads left to right).
